@ ianlee74… Thanks
Bug: For some reason comments tab is empty on Codeshare even if there are some comments.
This was being expanded upon. Saw your comment about pollution lol
Oh I see, was that you doing some testing?
Yes
Alright, you can delete the comment (or add functionality so we can delete our own comments
)
I’m still seeing what I think are Server outages. PING of the server fails, and when it does tracert gets me to the last hop and then times out
275 ms 274 ms 274 ms sc-smv2206.servint.net [209.50.237.198] (is the last hop before server.ghihost.com)
Is it worth me (and others?) tracking times when the site isn’t available to allow you to correlate it with other logs/activities?
@ Brett - I’m seeing frequent outages, too, so it’s not just you.
We’ll look into this further and get back to you.
Small change to the menu bar but it looks way better.
the outages seem to affect www.ghielec as well… it seems it’s just the same “host” with a different IP address bound
There’s also something that miss… When posting a reply to a post, I think it was usefull to have on screen the last 3 messages. This helps to answer precisely. Is it possible to see this again? maybe with an optionnal checkbox in our profile to select if we want it or not.
I’m definitely missing this functionality as well. Without it, I sometimes end up having to open the new message page in a new tab so I can flip back and refer to the message I’m replying to…
@ Gus - Found a bug in the forum software parsing for code blocks. Looks like if there are no spaces for the first X number of characters, the code is formatted inline rather than block style. So this:
Piezo1.Set(440, 50);
is formatted inline, while this (extra space added immediately following “Set”):
Piezo1.Set (440, 50);
is formatted block style. I would expect both to be formatted block style.
Very strange bug. I forwarded it to the right people.
Agreed…it’s quite odd, especially since the code snippet did have a space in it, just inside the parens. Odd parsing issue, I’m guessing.
I miss the last posts too (although sometimes 3 doesn’t seem enough either :))
I am back - but not via my home network (am on a work network at the moment). Can’t pinpoint what is wrong when I was at home, I could get to the same IP in the data centre, maybe my home IP address was banned by GHI ?
In case I’m not the last one to figure this out… You only receive email notifications from the forum now if you hit the “Watch” button. I thought maybe Josh was still working on the email feature and that’s why I wasn’t getting them anymore. I hit the watch button on a thread today and they started rolling in again… It would be nice to have the checkbox added back to the reply screen.
(not really tinyclr related - ignore me if you like
)
Hi i am still having woeful connectivity to the GHI sites at the moment. From my home network anyhow - the other internet connections I use including work and mobile seem ok. Symptoms are when I try to open say the GHI catalog (so I can buy something :)) IE times out. When I ping www.ghi…etc I get a timeout… When I repeat that on a “good” network, ping responses work as expected, and comparing the last few hops in the network using tracert, I get responses from the device just before the “server.ghihost.com” when things fail. So it’s almost like the response is dropped by the firewall at the host. Almost like I’m blacklisted ! Any thoughts Gus/Josh about what might be going on ?? I think my email is in my profile if you want to ping me offline !
@ Brett - Are you or your ISP using proxy?
