FWIW, this is the best dam flux pen I have ever used. I will not solder anything without it.

I also have one of these, which makes makes re-work or even first time boards a breeze to solder. Have done many BGA’s with this as well.
Works like a charm. Personally, I prefer it over an oven any day.

@ VersaModule - Hey, we have the same flux pen! As it turns out you can’t air freight these more than 1 at a time.

I also use Sparkfun’s special blend solder and that makes soldering fun.

@ munderhill - Here’s how i do them without flux…

If the pins are .1in then place your headers in a proto breadboard.
Slap on the PCB
Hold solder next to pin (Flux core 0.7mm)
Hold iron on base of Pin/PCB for a second.
Push in some solder then take away solder.
Let solder flow for a second then take away iron
Mint joint :clap:
To get a flash clean finish give it a bath in some PCB wash then an H20 rinse.
