Hi all!
I’m about to upload some demo soon and I wonder what screen size should I make it for.
I have both 3.2" and 7" displays and tested some scenarios on both.
May be use the same scenario with scaling to fit different screen sizes?
Sure. The more the merrier!
I’m afraid of scaling 'cause on a small screen controls could get very small and disproportional.
For example, checkbox 20x20 looks good on 7" but will get 8x10 on 3.2" - it’s very small and disproportional.
When scaling symmetrical objects apply the smallest unit to both sides. Now your 8x10 is 8x8.
I’ve thought about it already.
But can you imagine the 8x8 checkbox?
More than that, try to tap it by finger
This size is for working with stylus only…
LMinimum size requirement
I think it would be better to do vice versa. Take 20x20 for 3.2" and get 40x40 for 7". It’ll be larger than it’s needed but it would be possible to work with fingers in both cases
I’ve added syntax highlights to some of your wiki pages.
Oh, I see.
Thank you!
You are welcome.
Please do not forget to add a license to your code.
Thank you, Gus.
But I’m not sure about license type yet.
Take your time but remember, no license means no one can use it.
Gus, but why I need the license now? I just want to upload the lib demo assemblies with usage sample project on the wiki.
In demo mode I’ll display a “demo” text in the screen corner.
Is it okay?
You do not need it, people who will use it or consider it will need it
It’s correct.
I mean that people don’t need this license to play with the demo.
For example, Skewworks sells his .NET Clix fo 30$ but nobody has to pay for his demo.
As I understand the license will be needed if someone wants to use the release version in his project.
Does it make sense?
If you are not absolutely sure about a license issue then get legal advice, unless you want to lose control.
They don’t have to pay but they know what type of license it is. Pyxis 2 is free and it’s license is clearly stated on CodePlex. It is important because if someone only wants free etc they don’t want to waste time with something that in the end will cost them.
Take a little time, think about what it anything you want in return for your hard work.
Oh, I see.
Thank you guys for your help.
I just think it would be like the current .NET Clix license or the previous of Glide.
@ Skewworks
Could you please point me what type of license do you use now for .Net Clix?
@ Gus
Could you please point me what type of license did you use for Glide before it became the OOS?
@ Mike
Mike, the main problem is that we live in different countries and so have different laws.
Also I’ve never dealt with licensing process before. But I wonder if there are any general license types legal for all countries. (Assuming the customer/user could be from any country I think I don’t have to have a whole bunch of different licenses for all life cases )
