I have performed a test range and we get very poor results in the office. Just 3 meters with only a desk and a plexyglass wall in between…
Do you observe such poor results? this is far from expected and far from specs…
Make sure you have them set to the highest transmit power. I think this is default, so they probably already are. I’ve had similar results (way less than spec) with pcb and wire antennas, although three meters is really low. I switched over to external antennas quite some time ago.
Another thing to check on the wire antenna is the solder. The quality of the solder joint varies widely from the manufacturer. I have increased range by resoldering the antenna.
