What is happening under the covers?

In perusing some of the Endpoint library code I noticed that a lot of the functionality seems to implemented by command line operations through a shell class.

To me, it looks like there is some kind of operating system running. A 4GB SD and a five second load time seems to support this theory.

I would like to understand what is happening…

What is the OS?

Where can I find documentation on the OS and its command set?

There is Linux but we don’t want to push this as a feature as Linux users have different expectations. So think of it as linux-ish.

The promise form us is a complete .NET experience for .NET developers. (At least till we uncover the other secrets we have inside)
