I’ve already found a few blogs from forum members and some of them put a link in the forum occasionally. I would be nice to see an option to enter a link to a personal website in the user profile.

Why not just put a link in the text?
because it isn’t linked. you have to cut and paste (egad).
It is one of those small things, that make a difference. ;D
Or better just make the text portion HTML friendly 
Or maybe BBCode, like the text editor for furom posts. A bit safer than HTML.
