HI
I have just received a Ghizzy
When i tried to upload the police demo via the microblocks link , it reported that the version of Microblocks on the board is not current - 355 vs 366
I followed the instructions to put Ghizzy in DFU mode & start The console
I click FIRMWARE & then Connect
I then select the DFU in F5 Mode & click CONNECT nothing happens!!!
NO firmware menu pops up
I have tried 2 different windows10 computers using Chrome with zero success
I get exactly the same under Linux

This is what you should see after you click connect. What do you see? Note at the bottom how there are options of what firmware to load.
An welcome to the community!
One of our team members just reported that he has seen this!! Is this what you are seeing? He only seen it once but then canβt reproduce. I mean it now works for him every time.
This is not a board (Ghizzy) related issues. Something on our server. Maybe there were some ongoing updates when you were trying.
HI
here is what i see on ALL my computers after putting Ghizzy into DFU mode & Pressing connect- both Windows & Linux running Chromeβ¦β¦
No list from which to choose

expanding the console history i see this error -
There was an error while disconnecting.
Cannot read properties of null (reading βcloseβ)

Port disconnected.

I have tried several known good Usb Cables as well as many different USB ports - all with the same result

Here you need to click connect button and select the DFU device. Then the list will show.
Please try and let me know what you see.
What I mean here is that the list will not show till you connect.
Hi
I have tried & tried that β¦ multiple time , multiple computers , multiple browsers still same result
After highlighting DFU & Clicking CONNECT NO LIST APPEARS
VIDEO
This is very strange! First, let me thank you for helping us figure out what is going on. You even made a video, thanks! A pre-lauch with possible issues, but hopefully this is it for you.
I am checking with the team about this.
What browsers are you using? We only support and test Edge and Chrome.
You name the browser i have tried it!!
Chrome, Chromium, Microsoft Edge, Opera, Firefox - under Linux & Windows 10.
I have even tried using VPN to see if is a geolocation thing
I am at a loss as to what to try next
Could this be a driver issue? I am looking at device manager and this is what I see.
Can you please find the βDFU in FS Modeβ on your end and show us what you see when you double click it?
I will power up my windows PC later today & check & report back to you
I normally use Linux & am getting exactly the same results from both OS
I see Ghizzy as Serial port & DFU on all OS i own
The fact that your console sees both as well ?
here is what i see on my Windows10 PC
Hope this helps
OK I am very confused. Your PC is seeing the device just fine!
β¦thinking!!
I have also sent a Ghizzy to me friend who lives in MO, USA,
He is also having very similar problems & symptoms
I know that is only a sample size of 2 but maybe the fact that i am not the only person points to it being something either in your backend or some specific setup with your computers?
Hundreds have used these boards! It is mind blowing that you and your friend are having problems. You seem to be doing it all just fine!
seems your driver is 2012, which is very old.
We are using 2018
Hey Dat, the driver update worked. I DMed Jason and got it squared out.
He is also having a problem with Linux still but at least is βplayingβ now

@Dat_Tran
I realise its not mission critical & that you have much to do but can someone add the Linux question to their to-do list please?
99.9% of my computing time is spent in Linux & from what i hear about Microsoftβs plans for windows i may not be the only one in the near future
Thanks Again
Mike
