Task Tracker - EMX loader cannot be updated on Windows 8

I just posted EMX loader cannot be updated on Windows 8 on Task Tracker. Feel free to discuss and make suggestions here.

EMX loader cannot be updated on Windows 8 was updated.

Status went from Proposed to Open.
Priority went from Unassigned to Minor.

Wow, a new batch of tasks… Could this be… Maybe, only maybe… Task Tracker is now functional?..

Actually, I can update it on Windows 8.1 — by using USB2 port…

I did this as well so can we define this issue a little better. When I get home I’m going to try this with a couple of different scenarios to try to understand this a little better as it might have been a fluke that it worked for me.

We actually know exactly what the problem is and we are updating our five year old boot loader :slight_smile:

Note how this problem doesn’t exist on g120, on the newer loader.

I successfully updated my Spider rev 1.0 from 4.2.x loader to 4.3.4.0

OS: Win 8.1 x64, using a USB 2.0 port.

HOWEVER, I am noticing that in device manager the device shows up as Cerb-Family. Sup with that?

Something to keep in mind is that it does not affect every machine. If a virtual COM port is visible on your machine and the driver is loaded, then you are not affected by this issue.
