Supported ethernet PHY options

We check the ID, at least the ID has to be β€œ0x20005C90” or initialize return faile. We may remove this checking but we need discuss internally.

What kind of ID is this?

There are Identifier1 (0x2) and Identifier2 (0x3) registers.

I see. In that case, the PHY will not work out of the box because the identifier registers will return 0x20005CA2.

I’ll try to see if I can get some of the other, supported, PHY ICs then.

We got a confirmation about the removing this checking. You can wait to next release if you can.

Starting from next release this PHY ic will work as well?

The fact that the extended registers are mapped differently doesnt change anything?

Any estimate on the next release?

=> We removed checking ID so it should work if they are compatible, but we don’t have this IC to test so hard to say.

Any estimate on the next release?

Sometime this week as an estimate.
