Hi Biren,

search on the codeshare and you’ll find some like http://www.tinyclr.com/codeshare/entry/120 that will show you how to write files, or look at the tutorial GHI Electronics – Where Hardware Meets Software

Biren - in the future please use the appropriate forum. Off Topic is for stuff not related to NETMF.

As Eric says, what are you trying to achieve?

These devices do not have a heap of memory. EWR is the only “permanent” storage you can get access too, but text is a poor storage medium! And seriously you don’t want to be writing to that memory all the time, it’s more an “infrequent storage” that’s just designed to allow you to have persistent information between reboots, not for logging.

Can’t you just throw on a USB memory stick and be done with it?

how to use file system in microframework? i am using fez spider hardware. bt i am not using sd card module. can any one tell me how to save text file in microframe work without using sd card module?

But where do you want to save the file then?

To save a file, you need storage like SD card or USB stick. Eventually you can save it on a remote server by using a network or serial connection

@ WouterH - please send code for remote server

@ Gus - i am using usb client, extender, display, and mainboard only

@ Gus - i want to save in internal file system.

This is not a PC. There is no internal harddrive and there is no ram file system. Saving to internal flash is not possible either.

The question is, why do you need this?

@ Gus - thanks

Use an SD card and all your trouble is gone!

Use a USB memory stick and your trouble goes away !

Simple answer: you can’t store a file somewhere if you don’t have a storage location !
