RFID & tag data storage

Looking around at various RFID tags, so are listed as having the ability to store data (very limited) on them.

Does the GHI RFID support this?

Is the amount of storage dependent on the tag?

This is reader only with standard 125khz cards

Here’s some good info and links: hardware - Can I write or modify data on an RFID tag? - Stack Overflow

No

Yes.

I assume that your response means that this module only works with read-only tags.

Any plans for a read/write module? Or are they prohibitively expensive?

Thanks.

If you need to write, take a look at NFC. PN532 NFC/RFID controller breakout board [v1.6] : ID 364 : $39.95 : Adafruit Industries, Unique & fun DIY electronics and kits . This is a great board (very well tuned antenna), is reasonably priced, and could be turned into a gadgeteer module pretty easily. BTW - NFC covers everything RFID and then some.

Thanks for the info!

Again, thanks!

I don’t have a specific need, just more about curiosity at this point, learning the abilities of this GHI module (as it’s the next on my list to get and play with).

I’ll take a look at that link as well.
