As far as I know Nextion don’t support animated gifs and own user elements.

Now there is also Gadgeteer driver available on https://nextionnet.codeplex.com/.

Thanks for this. These displays looks great. Do you know where one can download the software to edit the GUI if I want to play with a bit? I tried to search for it but could not see if its available anywhere.
