Program no longer deploying

I got to work this morning and my main software solution is no longer deploying. I tried to figure out what is going on - it hits the ‘Generating device specific assemblies’ step then blows through it and tries to fire up the debugger without loading the software onto the module. Using a SC20260D sitcore module. does this on 2.1.6 and 2.1.64. I tried a different solution and that one deploys properly. Any ideas?

the settings between the two projects are identical.

We’ve seen this before, here.

I had this yesterday too, a reference was broken and needed to be deleted and re added. That fixed it.
