Can I power up gadgeteer boards from any socket? If so, are 3.3V and GND lines enough or is 5V also required?
By definition you need to regulate all power before the mainboard if you’re not using an official power source. If anything you use needs 5v then you need to supply it; otherwise 3v3 is sufficient, along with a gnd reference. And technically, all sockets are connected to the same bus so you can power the entire thing from any socket.
