Newbe question: Mini robot kit vs Panda/Domino + parts

I got the mini-kit last and no regrets. I feel it has a nice balance of parts and got me up to speed quickly. Now am ready for more projects. I then ordered a panda and a domino for other stuff. I will use the domino as an Xbee remote to host a joystick (xbox, nunchuck) and maybe use panda for some other xbee sensor. Not sure I would have ramped up as fast if I started from a bunch of other parts I ordered seperately. The kit is 1 thing, getting the programing just right and expanding the smarts is the real challenge/joy. I might just get the kit and get going. You can always leverage the mini and parts for something else down the road. Good luck on you missions.

Speaking of missions. I am a coach this year on Lego FLL for daughter. Wish we could use Fez instead of NXT. Would actually make the logic easier IMHO. Only thing lacking is stepper motors where you can dial in the rotation degrees.

You do not have to! Use FEZ to control your NEXT

Gus the Lego FLL is rather anal. you have to use only approved parts.
