New capacitive touch display options!

Today, we are bringing 7 new display options to Gadgeteer and GXP-compatible mainboards. The Display NHVN Module provides an easy way to connect select New Haven displays, either using the gadgeteer sockets, or by using the GXP connections.

The GXP (general expansion port) standard was created by GHI Electronics to standardize the display connection on a 40 pin 0.1" spaced header.

The Display NHVN module is compatible with any Gadgeteer mainboard with RGB sockets and also works with any board with a GXP-compatible connection. The Related Products tab on the product page contains a list of some of the GXP ready devices.

Supported displays:
[ul]NHD-4.3-480272EF-ATXL# (4.3" 480x272 pixels)
NHD-4.3-480272EF-ATXL#-CTP (4.3" with capacitive touch)
NHD-4.3-480272EF-ATXL#-T (4.3" with resistive touch)
NHD-7.0-800480EF-ATXL# (7" 800x480 pixels)
NHD-7.0-800480EF-ATXL#-CTP (7" with capacitive touch)
NHD-7.0-800480EF-ATXV# (7" 800x480 pixels)
NHD-7.0-800480EF-ATXV#-CTP (7" with capacitive touch)[/ul]
Please note that the Display NHVN Module will be available for purchase in late October.

[em]Tip:[/em] No displays are included with this module. Mouser Electronics stocks both, GHI products and New Haven displays.

Very nice!

Fantastic!!!

Looks good. The 4.3 is good because you have mounting points but for the 7" you are going to need something to clamp the LCD into place.

Impressed by the price. I did a small run of 15 units on my 7" panel and the cost per board alone was $75 :frowning:

I was going to offer the extra units for sale but might just hang on to them as I doubt I will be able to sell them

If anyone if interested in a Front Panel Express design for the 7" which has the cutouts to suit and gives a nice alignment for the display, let me know and I can send you the file. You can modify this to your own size but the cavity on the rear fits the LCD snugly.

Why is there no 5" option?

@ Dave McLaughlin - I forgot about the mounting option for the 7" display. More on that tomorrow.

Actually more on that tomorrow, I was busy today…

The 7" display with the Display NHVN Module fits perfectly with the Holey Board! You are able to use the 4 mounting holes on the Holy Board to mount the display.

@ Gary - Does this mean that it’s tomorrow?

@ Gary - when is the new “Holey-Moley-Board”-sized display being released?

It’s still in the design phase, I will have to get back to you

@ Dave McLaughlin -

I am interested in the Front Panel Express design. Would you be so kind to send me the files? We are just looking for mounting options for the 7" display so maybe this can help us out.
