NETMF for AVR micros?

I saw recently the stunning achievement of running Linux (Ubuntu, including X and Gnome) on an 8-but AVR microcontroller here: http://dmitry.co/index.php?p=./04.Thoughts/07.%20Linux%20on%208bit

Who, I wonder, will take this emulated ARM and run NETMF on it?

Time for new flavor - nanoFramework

nanoVM was made to work on ATmega8 with 8K of flash

but its much useless

Looks like a very old project. Have you used it? Just curious.
