The Microsoft NETMF team is working on and releasing the stack fixes.
The only other thing we’ve said about the NETMF networking stack can be found here:
http://netmf.codeplex.com/discussions/569521
And Colins info in the comments in last month’s QFE post:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/netmfteam/archive/2015/01/28/netmf-4-3-qfe2-released.aspx
The only change in this QFE was to fix issues with the VS 2013 support. The beta that we will start up shortly will address issues in the network stack and the deployment/debugging experience. There are several improvements in performance (with a little ‘p’) in the works. In addition, we are doing active investigation in Performance (with a big ‘P’) which is currently leaning towards AOT compilation. We are also working on closer integration with the rest of the Microsoft IoT stack in the Threshold timeframe. Then there is cleaning up the build and porting process. Lots to do.

One of the Chris Walker’s comments caught my eye:
There are some really interesting things coming in the NETMF world. In meetings with Microsoft last year, Secret Labs agreed to take on the future network stack project to let the NETMF team focus in on the things they do best (i.e. creating the future of the NETMF core). In the short term Microsoft’s engineers may also fix some of the lwIP issues for applications that want to use that stack.

Is this really so? NETMF team offloaded network stack to Secret Labs?
I wouldn’t have thought Chris had the time or resources available to take on any new projects, but you never know he just might have a pile of available time and resources looking for something new to do.

I would read this as a variant of the famous koan about one-handed clapping
