Re: MakerFaire NYC
I got my boss to send me last year, but I don’t expect to be able to do the same this year. Gadgeteer/NETMF is something extra I do, and although I can often work it into my responsibilities, it’s not tops on the list. It’s possible I may go on my own, but not likely.
Pretty sure I’ll be able to make it to the Norfolk mini maker faire, though.
Pete
Anybody else from Calgary who would like to join up and get some gadgeteer stuff into the Calgary mini maker faire on Sept 8th?

Good to hear your OK Pete
I am still decompressing from this event I have never done anything like this before it was amazing to teach soldering and see people so excited to learn. I have never taught anything before and people did seem to learn stuff. I was so busy I never got to take any photos thanks for posting those.
@ swestcott - By all accounts you and Jean did a terrific job, both with the adults, and with MADKidz (particularly given the short notice for the latter). Can’t wait to see what you all cook up for 2013!

Oooh! Cooking with soldering irons. That could be a fun event! (lead free solder only)
Just wanted to chime in and say thanks to Gus and Andrew for the awesome introduction to NETMF and Gadgeteer at MADExpo. Had a blast and now have enough ideas to curb off any chance of sleeping for the next 10 years at least… Just ordered my first Kit and decided to go with the spider. Cannot wait for the Fedex guy to show up!
@ mikejramsey - welcome to the club
@ mikejramsey - Glad you enjoyed the event. We’ll have to see what madness we can get up to for 2013.
Can’t believe I missed this thread until today!
Hopefully next year I’ll be able to actually put some of my projects in the demo room - this year I actually brought them with me, but they were in the hotel room all of the time!
@ Ianlee74 Which events are you speaking at?
@ Steve
There will be another opportunity soon - Mini Maker Faire Norfolk in October.
Awesome, will try to make it!
Would love to have some NETMF love, er uhmm, talks at Richmond CodeCamp as well. Call for speakers opens tomorrow! http://rcc.confs.mobi/
@ stevepresley - What are the dates for RCC? And why am I hearing about it for the first time on the forums?
October 6th. And because it was announced this morning, I let the cat out of the bag early!
