The announcement for the latest version of Endpoint references the Raspberry Pi 4 but not the Pi 5. What’s the story?
Too lazy to buy one and test? If you have one can you try it please?
.NET 8 seemed to load via Endpoint Config to PI 5 okay.
Deploying the default code that is included with a new project results in the following output:
You may only use the Microsoft .NET Core Debugger (vsdbg) with
Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio or Visual Studio for Mac software
to help you develop and test your applications.
Loaded ‘/home/mike/.epnet/dotnet/shared/Microsoft.NETCore.App/8.0.7/System.Private.CoreLib.dll’. Skipped loading symbols. Module is optimized and the debugger option ‘Just My Code’ is enabled.
An unhandled exception of type ‘System.IO.FileLoadException’ occurred in Unknown Module.: ‘Could not load file or assembly ‘Pi-Test, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null’.’
*************************** UPDATE ***********
The project/app name resulting in the above exception was “Pi-Test”.
For some unknown reason, I decided to try another new project with the dash removed from the name. Project “PiTest” loaded and worked.
I had created the dashed project before updating the GHI extension, so that might have been a factor.
I have not done any further testing yet, but Pi 5 appears good.
**************************************** UPDATE AGAIN *****
Okay… I created another new project with the dashed name and it had the same problem as the first.
Someone in the deployment chain does not like dashed names…
And what are the odds of your first project having a dash in it?! Thanks for helping and we will look into this.
