He could have done better, and maybe saved his house, by urinating on the fire. :-[
On second view, I think he was going for insurance fraud. His not noticing the fire at first, and his very lame attempts to put it out were comically ineffective… I cant believe someone would be that inept. The fact he filmed it all leads me to believe insurance fraud. “see, I tried to put it out!”
