Issue installing .NET Micro Framework on Windows 11 for GHI G400

Hello,

I’m working on an old project based on a GHI G400 board using .NET Micro Framework.
The project runs correctly on two other PCs with Visual Studio 2017, but I need to set up the same environment on a new PC running Windows 11.

Problem:

  • The installation of the .NET Micro Framework SDK and the GHI Electronics NETMF SDK 2016 R1 doesn’t complete successfully.

  • I noticed that SAM-BA 2.12 is required, but the automatic download fails, and I’m unsure if the whole toolchain is compatible with Windows 11.

Has anyone successfully installed NETMF and GHI tools on Windows 11 or found a workaround to get this environment working? Any step-by-step guide or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance!

I use VMWare for virtual machine support. It has the ability to clone a running PC into a VM. I would then run the old PC VM on the new machine. If you say you are moving the VM then it stays activated.

I assume other VM products have similar capabilities.

Hi,

I tried several solutions, but it doesn’t seem to work for me.
It looks like I’m just missing the GHI Electronics NETMF SDK 2016 R1.

The online installer no longer works, so I can’t download it that way.
Could someone from GHI please send me the offline installer or a working download link?

Thanks a lot in advance!
