Introducing G120HDR, New Prices and New Gadgeteer Modules

Thanks! I didn’t notice that in my read through on that wiki page.

Yippeeee!!! Order placed. I can hardly wait for some of those other modules to be ready to order (gas module!!!). Thanks so much as Gadgeteer is the best and you guys are the best at Gadgeteer.

Now I’ll have to go and order another whacky color case to put my new modules in. How soon till we see the project boards available for ordering? Radiation module coming soon I hope? So much cool stuff and so much cool potential…

Thanks again.

^^ Any answers regarding the reference design?

Same answer as before, we are trying ASAP. This has to be perfect in every way as G120 goes in commercial products around the world. The reference design has to be built tested and proven before it is released.

Indeed, however, I was hoping the design would have reached a stable and tested state prior to the module release, so that I could have a board made and in hand when I received the first module. I am reluctant to send my design off until I have confirmation from you guys.

Again, I understand it needs to be right, I am developing a commercial product and appreciate the work your team is doing to certify the product’s robustness, but having a time frame would be helpful.

We are all done with other things so maybe 2 weeks only.

That is one heck of a Friday product release!

Keep up the good work GHI!

Woohoo

Looking forward to my G120 and Bee!!

If I order 2 will it get here faster? G120HDR, great product guys! Some of us are limited on what we can do custom board-wise; this thru-hole version opens the G120 up to all of us. When will schematics, etc. be available for the HDR? Same time as the G120?

.
Buying more will not get your order faster. I suggest you try sending a box of candy to Christine.

There is need for schematics. All pins are labeled right on the pcb. We will be adding more info as well.

What about drivers. I see that GHI NETMF (Support – GHI Electronics) is still old.

@ Gus - About to abuse my Visa…If i order both the HDR and 120 in the one order will you ship both after the 15th?

I assume you meant ‘no need for schematics’. What about the unused pin on the GREEN LCD socket (i.e. pin 9). Is that pin connected to anything? I will need this pin to control the LCD backlight. So if it’s not connected I could wire it to a GPIO pin.

Please see wiki and descriptions again, all pins are exposed on the headers. If you do not need sockets, then you can safely ignore them all and still have all pins available on the pads

@ Gus,

I guess I didn’t make myself clear. I am designing a PCB that will allow me to connect a 4.3" Newhaven LCD to the G120HDR I ordered using the R,G,B sockets. These sockets contain all the required LCD signals but I am not clear about the connection to PIN 9 on the G socket. For example, the T35 display has pin 9 connected to the SHDN# signal on the LCD backlight circuit. Is this signal on pin 9 of the G socket on the G120HDR? If so what is the GPIO signal associated with pin 9?

I understand that all signals are available on the headers but I wanted to avoid running a separate wire from a header pin to my PCB when the G socket has an available pin. I hope this explanation is clearer.

I’ve ordered mine
What gadgeteer sockets are present? Can’t tell from the pics.

Good point! I didn’t think of this one  It is IO17
