It is said to be using “Harmonic drive” motors (“Strain Wave Gearing”) similar to the drivetrain on the Mars rovers. First time I hear about this technology… invented in 1957 as per wikipedia Strain wave gearing - Wikipedia
It is said to be controlled by a very fast controler such as an ARM cortex M4 to generate the wave.
