Gadgeteer in Digital Photgraphy

Digital SLR cameras have a remote input to trigger the camera to take shots. This is important for high zoom, where any vibration to the camera would effect the image quality. In this case, a remote is used to trigger the camera.

Another advantage of this feature is for automated photography. This can be use for high speed photography, a quick internet search shows many examples, like http://www.smashingapps.com/2010/01/17/40-stunning-examples-of-high-speed-photography.html I added some pictures below. Other uses can be for security systems, over-the-internet triggers and more. The easiest and most powerful way to do this would be by using .NET Micro Framework and .NET Gadgeteer.

@ HughB at MODLAB offers a gadgeteer module with an open source drivers for connecting DSLR to any Gadgeteer Mainboard.

@ Architect - no but I got to get me one if these modules and make one

Looks like i’m going to have to make some more of these, Im nearly sold out. I even have an order from someone who hasn’t even got his spider kit yet

FYI everyone @ Justin has two of the DSLR Module in stock so if you are planning on ordering some of his modules too then you can save on the shipping costs.
EDIT: @ Gus thanks for the showcase highlight
