FEZ Spider 4.2 Firmware Update Fails

Hello,

FEZ Spider Firmware Update to SDK 4.2 fails. It successfully deletes contents and reboots but is unable to connect after reboot to install new firmware. The 4.1 “update” installs correctly without any problems.

Thanks.

Hi TechDev,

what devices show up in Windows Device Manager after your 4.2 attempt? There have been several reports that the driver won’t load without you manually pointing to the files - can/did you check the readme/release notes and the thread that talks about this?

Hello,

Device is originally recognized as “GHI Boot Loader Interface (COM3)” (driver available). After reboot it is recognized as EMX (no driver).

Regards,

…even after manually installing the driver like the post tells you to ?

That means your device dies not have the firmware loaded. Once you load the firmware then windows will need the drivers mentioned earlier.

Upgraded to 4.2.5.0 successfully. Needed to manually install the driver, just like the post mentioned

Thanks.
