I did purchase a Pololu base and build my own shield for the Panda 2 using this motor driver fromSparkfun : http://www.sparkfun.com/products/9457
I also added this Pololu reflector sensors Pololu - QTR-8A Reflectance Sensor Array connected to Panda II analog inputs
