FEZ Cerberus not detected after FW update

Hello,

I just received my FEZ Cerberus and I’m trying to get everything up and running…
I’m able to boot it in DFU mode and update the firmware (to TinyBooter_4_2_3_0.dfu) with the STDFU Tester, but that’s all I’m able to do…

After the firmware update my computer does not detect any device when I reconnect it or press the reset button.
I get the same results with 4 computers, all 64 bit, 3 with windows 8, 1 with windows 7.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Noring, welcome to the Fez Club.

Can you boot into DFU mode now? Does teh serial port device show up?

I am guessing tinybooter may not have applied successfully; there’s a note http://wiki.tinyclr.com/index.php?title=Firmware_Update_FEZ_Cerberus that talks about the possibility of damaging the firmware, I assume that’s not the case for you but we really should see the DFU serial port when you boot back into DFU mode.

Hello, and thank you for such a swift response

I followed that guide, but somehow I missed the “Click the Create from Map button” step. 4 times.
After I did it with clicking that button first, everything worked out!

Sorry and thank you!

Awesome. Glad I didn’t just say RTFM  even if it turned out to be the fix
