DUELink Spider – Physical computing for Python and JavaScript developers!

Here is a fun Kickstarter for your upcoming holiday season. We are bringing you a circuit that bridges your computer, phone, and Raspberry Pi to the physical world allowing you to read sensors and control motors/actuators, thanks to DUELink Spider. No new software or platform to learn as DUELink Spider will simply work with Python, JavaScript, .NET C# and beyond!

No soldering and no tangled wires! DUELink Spider offers multiple options of connecting sensors and motors. The options range from simple 3-pin modules, to modular STEMMA and Qwiic modules, to advanced Mikroe Click modules. No matter what option you select, the modules will simply plug in and the software will be done using what you are already familiar with.

The possibilities are endless with what you can do. Go ahead and control doors from your Python AI vision application…

Build websites that read sensors and control motors…

Develop .NET C# applications to connect sensors to the cloud…

Build IoT projects that control LED matrices…

Turn your phone into a light controller.

Don’t forget to give your Raspberry Pi and your computer the power of controlling addressable LEDs and driving servo motors.

All works with a USB plug and we also have Bluetooth BLE to continue what you are doing wirelessly.

While there are literally thousands of module options on Amazon, Temu, Alibaba, and other online stores, we have hand selected a few to get you started.

Go ahead, tell your friends and back us up today on Kickstarter and take advantage of the early bird special!

Awesome! I wonder where did the spider name come from?

We are also expanding on the demo website if any of you guys wants to contribute https://demo.duelink.com/

I can’t find a way to pledge the explore kit AND the enclosure. Is it possible ?

We have an example 3d enclosure for the spider and then you can modify that to include whatever sensors you may want to use in your project. Every project will be different in what it needs.

Of course I backed this. The FEZ Spider II was my very first GHI device, with the T35 and the joystick module, it was great fun and an even better learning experience!

Same story !

FEZ Domino with a sample kit of various 3 wire sensors was my start. The circle is complete - as I just backed the Explorer kit.

Next for me was Gadgeteer with Spider I and various other boards. So happy to dive back into a frickin’ easy hardware platform

Welcome back. We are also planning for modules to complete the story but you still now have a lot of non GHI options to get you started.

I assume the DUELink Spider appears as USB serial port to the host and there is a text based command set which is used for configuration and read/write.

Are there also events?

*** After finding the C# library, it appears that there is a serial port and a command set. But I did not see any events.

Correct, no events.
