Discontinued module market?

Is there any place that sells discontinued modules? Or is there someplace that lists modules available to trade/sell between builders? Over the last 2 months I’ve run into 4 discontinued modules I’ve wanted, I don’t know if I’m the only one running into this or not.

Currently I’m interested in finding a FM radio module.

I really like the FM Radio module. One of my favorites. Don’t have any I want to sell though.

Have you seen this:

I don´t know the price? Quote?

I’ve seen the turnkey, it’s really expensive if you need just a couple, it’s very good pricing if you need a small mass production run.

Maybe an order aggregator that pulls together the wish list from a bunch of people and orders an item when there is enough demand.

Group buy?

I’m in for one. My son recently made a low power FM transmitter. Listening to it on a gadget(eer) he puts together would be way more fun than a plain old FM radio…

ill buy a radio thing if they get it to robotshop eventually. howmuch would it cost? <$20 and I might reconsider, because I don’t have a speaker to even listen to it. Chip tunes don’t count, with the tunes modue

For anyone interested you can fairly easily make your own. At SparkFun there is the Si4703 FM Tuner in 2 versions, with and without amp and headphone jack. It is basically exactly the same as the module except for the Sparkfun unit ending with header pins instead of the Gadgeteer socket. 8 pins from the socket line up with 8 pins on the Si4703. The version without the jack has an additional 2 pins for left & right audio and then an 11th pin for an antenna. The version with the jack utilizes the headphones as an antenna like cell phones with FM radios do.

If you use either unit and connect them to the breakout or breadboard you can then use the GHI FM Radio module driver.

It’s a bit more expensive than I would like at $20 for the radio, but it’s pretty easy to get it going this way.
