Digi ConnectCore 6UL

Has anyone used these? They look interesting. A low power wirelessAC/bluetooth4.2/Ant embedded linux SOM the size of a stamp. It even has a video co processor

I have a dev kit but haven’t done anything yet with it. Hopefully next week. From a hardware perspective it looks easier to use than the Edison.

@ skeller - How much was the dev kit? I cant see any pricing

There are actually 2 dev kits.

The module can be mounted two different ways. One using the edge-castellated tabs or as an LGA. There are a lot more LGA pads and it gives full use of the hardware.

The “Start” kit only uses the edge-castellated tabs.

The “Development” kit uses the LGA pins so it has more functionality. The Development kit doesn’t appear to be available yet.

So many kits my issues is with development support, if the programming environment is clumsy id destroys the benefit of the hardware.

Imagine dotnet running on this device…WOW!!!

I currently exploring the wiced module from avnet module using the cypress blu/wifi chip.

Have to agree. I picked up the LinkIt Assist 2502 from Itead Studio as it was on lowered price but the dev system does not support debugging. Nice concept to make a GPS tracker for the wife’s car (she asked for it) but it’s not dev friendly. After using JTAG, NETMF, Rabbit and even Android and Windows 10 on the Pi etc with real time debugging you really do miss being able to breakpoint and single step your code.

Reasonable I’d say, at least for the starter kit.
