I am looking to build a custom board with the USBizi144 Chipset. The board needs to have Ethernet so that it can act as a webserver, two uarts to work with two RS-485 half duplex chips and as many analog/digital IOs as possible. I don’t have the PCB board design yet, but I wanted to get an understanding of if this is possible to do with the USBizi144 Chipset and what I need to do to make it work. I would like to be able to push the code changes via Ethernet so that the devices can be updated while in the field. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
You should look at the Rhino design files http://www.ghielectronics.com/catalog/product/132 and base it on that. The USBizi needs to use the WIZ5100 chip for ethernet comms, in the Rhino GHI have used the WIZ811 module that is relatively simple to drop in, or you can take the Wiznet design principles or any of the multitude WIZ5100 arduino shields and drop that portion into your circuit.
Thanks for the help with the RLP. I am new to NETMF, so I am figuring things out a little slowly. Do any of you guys know of any RS-485 Modbus (client/server) RLP code out there? The FEZ Rhino board was a great starting point for a basic board that I can build off of. Thank you for any and all help you guys have and can provide.
What is the cheapest solution out there that has Ethernet, multiple uarts(for rs-485) and digital/analog IOs? We are looking at producing thousands of devices and want to keep costs down.
