I received an e-mail from them this morning about it. Here is part of that e-mail.
FXI is committed to providing an excellent platform for commercial products as
well as hobbyist development and will be releasing freely downloadable software
updates in order to improve the Cotton Candy experience. We also intend to
open source large parts of the software code base for Cotton Candy in order to
further enable the developer ecosystem and welcome any feedback and suggestions
for improvement through our developer forums and issue tracking systems.
Supply is limited and in high demand, so we recommend you to visit our store: http://store.cstick.com , provide your billing and shipping information, and
place your order for rapid fulfillment. You need to register using the email
address to which you just received this notification.
Your pre-ordered development unit will be held only until the 1st of October
2012, after which time the Webstore will be re-opened and all pre-orders will
become invalid.
Thank you for your continued interest in the Cotton Candy micro-computer
platform, and we look forward to hearing about your experiences with product on
the Cstick Community Forum and on the FXI Facebook page.
Personalty, I think the price is great. Its a 1.2Ghz Wi-Fi / bluetooth enabled PC on a stick. With build in HDMI video.
Its cheaper than a tablet., More powerful than most, and best of all it it can fit on your keychain.
Now you can take you PC with you anywhere.
It each his own i know. . The idea of throwing this in my pocket and going to say your house and plugging it into the back of your TV. then using a blue tooth keyboard/mouse and start coding on it. then uploading files to your PC with the built in Wi-Fi is great. Or heck, even putting a movie on the SD card and then plugging it into my TV for the whole family to watch.
