where would i find the schematic that showed what the 10 pins are?

To get the schematics for this module you will need to download code from Gadgeteer codeplex:

It is inside Modules\Seeed\Compass\Hardware\1.0\Eagle

I got the schematic from the Gadgeteer source, as suggested by Architect. I used a no cost copy of Eagle to read it.
