Cobra III Power Supply

Hi,

Is it OK to power the Cobra III straight from a 12v vehicle supply, in that can it handle the noise etc?

yes, it has a decent power supply on it, and can take up to 30v (as per silkscreen) meaning you shouldn’t have any issue unless your alternator is massively out of whack

@ wolfbuddy - Decouple that with a capacitor. When the starter is operating, you basically have no power :slight_smile:

Thanks for the replies. The range 7V to 30V seemed to be suitable for both 12V and 24V vehicle systems but It’s always worth checking with those in the know. :slight_smile:

@ Mr Smith - that’s a good observation, however I wouldn’t expect the battery voltage to drop below 10V under cranking load unless there was something wrong with the battery/starter/wiring.
