I am not able to power using the 3.3V regulator and 47uF cap. Instead I am currently using external power source. I am using TLV1117-33CDCYG3 and Tantalum Capacitor 520 size B 47uF 10V. I am measuring 3.3V at the output and the tab of the regulator. Is there any schematics( in pdf) available for Cerb40?
In your picture, they are not there. I see solder on the pads, so maybe they were, but did not work? The LM1117 you mention should work fine.
Try this:
- Remove the external power.
- Solder on the regulator and cap. Note: tantalum caps must be oriented correctly. I would suggest using a ceramic cap instead. Electronic theorists may disagree, but IMHO the only thing a tantulum cap provides over ceramic is lower cost.
- Test deploy a simple app via USB.
Thanks for the infor.
Seems to be working now, initially I did as shown in the picture and the board not being detected, I assumed the board not properly power-up the I switch to external power source.
I’m a total beginner in electronics, so could someone tell me, if I’ll solder voltage regulator and capacitor to power board from usb when debugging, will I be able to connect external power source when usb is disconnected, I mean not using usb connector?
Yes it will work.
