CDC Driver in Commercial Application

Hi,

We are working on a commercial project involving ChipworkX. Currently the USB connection between the ChipworkX and PC is achieved using the CDC driver from GHI. My question is can the default PID and VID from the driver be used in the commercial application? I suspect we need to order at least a PID (and maybe use the GHI’s VID?)
Also, can the [Strings] section from the CDC_Driver.inf file be freely edited, or are they subject to copyright? Thanks :slight_smile:

You are licensed to use the GHI supplied drivers as is. You can’t change PID and can’t change strings. If you have specific needs then please contact GHI directly.

Note that any change on inf will make your drivers “unsigned”.
