Boot loader version: GHI UC5550 vs ST factory

So we are going to use the UC5550 for our product. The UC5550 uses an STM327xx chip which according to the ST web site comes with a boot loader installed. If that is that the case then why do I see people using a GHI boot loader? Is it better, faster?

Thanks.

Perhaps it is protecting GHI’s IP?

The bootloader is needed to load our firmware. Please note that the UCM family has been discontinued. You can still use them to experiment with TinyCLR 1.0 but sadly they are not longer recommended nor supported. SITCore product family is what is now recommended. Stay tuned for announcements.
