Azure Service Bus = AMQP

Hi,

Happy TinyCLR user here. I have a big dilemma:

  • I am in Europe. Currently the Endpoint is not available here via direct sale (Amazon US only, correct me if I’m wrong). So not an option
  • I really use the AMQP Protocol for the Azure Service Bus (a way more robust option than the MQTT via Azure IoT Hub). The Service Bus and AMQP are not available for the TinyCLR framework currently. AMQPLite was the next logical step, did not manage to make it work.
  • I would really like to keep my Fez Boards (especially Portal & Feather) and not get into the Pi Linux bandwagon.

Question: is there any plan to integrate the ServiceBus in the roadmap or should I opt for other methods? Azure IoT has another pricing, etc, so really not a good alternative.

Thank you

Is there still an HTTPS option to send to Service Bus? If I remember right there was one years ago but I’m not sure if they deprecated it.

There is, but it only allows to post messages, not to receive. You can’t subscribe in HTTPS to receive.

I am based in Portugal, I bought an Endpoint from Amazon and it was shipped here fine. I think there was an option that guaranteed all duties etc were paid so no issues with customs here. Would be nice eventually if they had a partner in the EU who could ship internally without that, as it would reduce the shipping time considerably (I think mine took 3 weeks or so to arrive).

+1 on that.
Especially after the announcement with the new taxes we got today…
