Android Open Accessory

Bingo, I was watching an interview with some of the larger producers of phone apps and they were showing off their drawer full of Android phones. They had to test any Android app on every phone just to try and make sure it would probably work in the wild.

Apple controls the IPhone OS but there not this sort of craziness.

The original MS phone OS was as bad as Android is now. It was hard to write an app that would work for all phones and NONE of the OEMs gave a rip about doing any updates even though MS built in the functionality. Windows Phone 7 takes a similar tack to Apple does with the IPhone and I suspect it will be a lot more popular because of it.
