I have installed a 32.768KHz crystal and a 2032 coin cell from Vbat to GND and the time will not hold after a power cycle or even a reset.
That was it, I was using T S.
Changed to T B and it works.
It is now now longer necessary to initialize the the RTC unless the battery dies, correct?
