WiFi NETMF Gadgeteer robot controlled from Windows 8

There is a known bug in PWM where min of max values cause it to lock up. Not sure on what hardware and what version!

It definitely doesn’t work now with the 8-24 RC drop, it could have possibly not worked in the 7-23 drop as well, but I’m pretty sure it was working when I was hacking on my bot in the evening when I went to the Win8 hack day in Reston on 8/17.

I’m doing this on a Cerberus, haven’t tested it with a Hydra or Spider yet.

Funny that if I send it a -100, it usually picks it up, but going from 100 to 0 doesn’t respond at all.

Hopefully I’ll get the chance to test some stuff later this evening. Perhaps running from 1 to 99 instead of 0 and 100 as I currently do. I might also try the soft start and stop too. I’ll post anything interesting I discover.

So I take that back - sending it any negative value appears to make it freak out. If I send a -75, and then send it a zero, it appears to max it out and then become unresponsive. If I send it any positive value or 0 without sending it a negative first, it seems to work fine.

Since a few of us are seeing this now, and it’s not specifically related to Pete’s WIn8 thread, I have started a new thread here: http://www.tinyclr.com/forum/topic?id=8946

Let’s continue the discussion there.

BTW, great talk and project Pete. I’m going to try and use Win8 to wire up a controller for my both with BlueTooth, will post that code once it’s up!

@ erice242 - is this spam?

More like an ad for the ā€œOff Topicā€ section.

Looks like spam. From what I can tell, he joined just to post the ad to his indiegogo site.

The board has nothing to do with Gadgeteer or NETMF.
