@ EriSan500 (Eric) - So I’ll just connect it to the 5V pin?
@ EriSan500 (Eric) -
What is the maximum current rating of FEZ Cobra?
Thank you so much for answering my questions

Do you mean the required current for the Cobra? From memory, up to 1A is a suggested power supply for this device, especiually when you’re using the TFT screen.
I read somewhere that the EMX Module can only be powered by 3.3V. Is that true?
You can run the cobra off a regulated 5v safely when using a display though, I’ve done so for over a year without issue.

I see the mix up. Are we talking about powering Cobra or EMX module?
The regulators on cobra are capable of high voltages (over 12V) but, since FEZ Cobra draws a lot of power, the regulators will heat up especially when the TFT display is connected. Overheating will damage the regulators.
So this is what you should know:
If you are not connecting any display then you can get away with up to 9V. We still recommend 6V. You do not need regulated 6V so any transformer should work.
If you are connecting a TFT display then defiantly 6V only. You do not need regulated 6V so any transformer should work.
If you have REGULATED 5V and want to use that then solder a wire between VIN and 5V on the expansion header. Again, REGULATED 5V. Only use this option if you know what what I am talking about.
With a display only, per first page of this thread. Dunno which is more recent
So if I only connect a regulated 5v to the 5v in/out pin, my EMX won’t power up?
@ Architect - oh, I’m talking about EMX. Sorry T__T
Ah sorry, my fault, saw the thread name and got confused.
@ Skewworks - Sorry. I just thought that since it is somehow connected to FEZ Cobra that I could ask about EMX here also. My bad
