Using Sharp GP2Y0A41SK0F with fez cerbot

Hello all,

I’m new to robotics field, I bought a FEZ cerbot and would like to use Sharp GP2Y0A41SK0F distance measuring sensors for obstacle detection. Could anyone please help me to plug the sensor to the robot .

Best regards
Sara

A number of examples of IR Distance finders in CodeShare here, but take a look at this one as a starter

Thank you Duke Nukem,

I took a look at the post its really helpful, but I was asking about how to connect two sharp IR distance measuring sensors with fez cerbot mainboard ? I mean connecting the hardware togather? there are many post connect Sharp sensors with micro controller Arduino UNO

You need to connect ground pins on both sensors to ground pin on any of the Gadgeteer sockets on Cerbot.
Connect the other (analog signal out) pins from sensors to two separate analog input pins on the Analog Gadgeteer socket on Cerbot.

On Socket 4 you can use any two pins 3,4 and 5 for the sensors.

EDIT: And of course the power pins from sensors should be connected to VCC (3V3) on the gadgeteer socket.

I really appreciate your help Mr. Architect.

Here’s what I did to make sure that I did it right:

I’m using socket 5 because I already used 4 with other modules
I connected both ground pins on sensors ( black wires ) to one ground pin on socket 5 ( pin 10 )
then connected two analog signal out ( yellow wires ) to two different ADC pins on socket 5 ( pin 4 and 5 )
then connected two power supply pins ( red wires) to one VCC pin on socket 5 ( pin 1)

Please correct me if I didn’t get the idea

Even though that socket is not an A socket. Pins 4 and 5 can be used as analog input ports. Looks right to me.

Thank you for your help, I will order Breakout TB10 Module to connect the wires with my FEZ Cerbot …

I’m doing a collision avoidance using two sharp IR distance measuring sensors with FEZ Cerbot.

Can anyone please help me with programming ?

Do you have a particular issue with the code?

@ Architect -
I would like to to a collision avoidance using Distance US3 and Sharp IR distance measuring sensors . For The Distance Module I used the code posted at the codeshare
https://www.ghielectronics.com/community/codeshare/entry/897

For the IR sensors can I use this code ?
