Spider II cellular data logger

I thought I would pass along some photos of a cellular data logger that I am working on. It is based on the Spider II and the SIM900 Cellular Radio module. The individual items are a bit difficult to see in the final assembly. The brackets are 3d printed. Having the 3D models of the boards and enclosure made the design process a whole lot easier.

This is running my first version of software. The cellular radio is making HTTP calls using the cellular radio’s built in HTTP client. The ethernet connection is receiving data from devices on the network. The 2nd version of software that is in development uses mIP for the local network using an ENC28, The build in network stack uses PPP to talk to the cellular modem. This approach should allow me to use TLS for secure connections. (At least that is my hope, I haven’t tested it yet.)

Thanks for all the help and advice this forum.
