Yeah both the 1052E and 1102E look pretty nice… I think one of the two will be the winner for me.
Regarding whether or not I need one… I can always bring my project into work and use our Tektronix DPO7104 if I [em]need[/em] to, but there have been plenty of times at home I am fiddling with stuff where having a basic scope would eliminate a lot of guesswork.
That “other Aussie electronics guy” has a video on how to hack the 1052 to get 100MHz resolution if you’re interested in voiding your warranty. I chose not to attempt it.
