i don’t think you have to buy something to enter. free day is so popular you’ll be lucky to get a response from their web server at all. they use the event as a load test of their servers.
Do people actually get to buy or just keep seeing browser time outs all day ?
I think this time you will take a quiz, and if you answer the question(s) you get a coupon code for $100 and have 60 days to spend.
Should reduce the server load a lot.
I’ve never actually gotten past the timeouts… But, it does sound like this year is going to be done a little different. From the comments on the page it sounds like it’s not going to be a quiz but more of a every 10K clicks wins or something. I never expect to win but it’s fun to spend a few minutes and maybe get lucky.
