Nice! Another game for the Hydracade.
Thanks! Haven’t tried it yet on Hydra, but it will be running on it inside my tabletop version of arcade cabinet
Well done! Someone was definitely enjoying themselves
My son Alexander is the director of the QA department when it comes to something fun.
Great job! Is this based on Chris’ same game engine? Did you port from existing ROM code or from scratch?
Thanks! No it is a port of a port. Here is more details:
I can’t use Chris’s engine just yet because I had follow closely existing code to minimize number of bugs. I did borrowed the idea of the InputProvider that is very close to Chris’s implementation though. On EMX Dev Sys I have used auto generated GPIOButtonInputProvider (slightly modified).
That looks very cool! I agree with @ mhectorgato, you definitely need to get that onto Ian’s Hydracade it will look awesome. Nice job sir!
@ taylorza - sounds like he’s got his own arcade in the works I do plan to use Skewwork’s app standard to eventually make it where I can have all of these games on the arcade at once. My arcade hasn’t seen much love lately. It did get some nice new speaker covers last weekend, though
Architect, if you’ve started on your arcade I am curious to see if you get the same screen flicker I get. I tried a different VideoOut module and that didn’t fix it. Next is to try a different Hydra but I haven’t taken the time yet to swap that out.
Ah, I missed that. Guess I better have that first cup of coffee before I start coding
Architect, Could you give your e-mail …
This is great. Love seeing more classic games.
I want to add to community showcase once you post some pictures, code and blog about it.
Well done from our “Divine”
@ capiton - it is on my profile page.
@ Gus - Thanks Gus.
@ Architect - top stuff fella
I just checked a youtube video of the original because I did not know the game, your game looks like an perfect reproduction, which is excellent!!! I look forward to taking it for a spin
@ taylorza - Thanks, having a good port in C as a reference was very helpful.
Very nice!
really great Job, and I love the fact you’ve got your son involved… awesome
I have updated my blog post with more info about the port.
I wanted to have a good game for my Gadgeteer Game Console. Rick Dangerous is an old classic game that I played long time ago and really liked. Fortunately there is a clone of the game in C - xrick from BigOrno.net. Quote from BigOrno: Way before...
Fixed some bugs and crashes. If everything will be alright I will upload code on codeshare this weekend. Get your Hydras ready :D.
Oh if you haven’t get Chucky - this is the time. You will need 7 buttons at least to play the game (4 buttons can be replaced with a joystick).
@ Architect - Thanks http://www.tinyclr.com/forum/topic?id=10535
