Personally I’d like to know if this would work with W10 IoT, if so it’s an attractive piece of kit!

I’m wondering if Adafruit will carry them. They already have a bunch of RPi compatible displays, but nothing at this feature price point.
@ PeteBrown - any word on if this display will be supported with the RPi IoT core?
Shoot! Wish this had come out a couple weeks ago…I don’t think there’s any way I could get this in time for my presentations next week.
Though given that I’m using Windows 10 IoT Core, I’m not sure whether this display would work or not, since it uses the DSI port, not HDMI.
Still, looks very slick, so hopefully we can find out soon if Windows 10 does or will support it.
@ Squeebee - that is about $100 Canadian or about $75 USD. Like I said before if folks thought that Gadgeteer modules were expensive wait till they get a load of Raspberry Pi stuff.
@ Duke Nukem - Same looking display for Gadgeteer was $150+…
I checked element14, and the US price is $60. Not too bad for a 7" multitouch display, IMO. Unfortunately, element14 doesn’t seem to offer the stand (which looks like a nice value-add), and they have it listed as UK stock, so the ship time would be at least a couple of weeks.
And that source is already sold out… Dang. I really wanted one of those frames.
@ munderhill - Thanks for the link. I haven’t heard of them before and they seem to carry all of the authentic parts.
GHI’s 7" screen was $200 when it was released, IIRC. It’s no longer available. The same $60 for Gadgeteer modules now gets you a T43, which is a 480x272 4.3" display. Not sure what you’re talking about.
Those stands were slick. Betcha we’ll see a design file up somewhere shortly to cut your own. I would like to mod it for various mounting scenarios, like on a wall…
Customizable touchscreen AllJoyn based home automation controllers for $100 (pi + screen)… not bad…
I just got the email spam from MCM for this display. (not sure how I got on their list)

I also would very much like to know if these kinds of displays will be supported by Windows 10 IOT!
I hope Pete wakes up soon.
Edit:
There is a nice blog post on the MCM site for how to build an enclosure around this to make a nice “Pi Tablet”
Stick a fez cream in there, and, bring the sockets out to the edge, and you’d have an interesting gadgeteer device.
I know the Win10 IoT team have just got one of these displays and are evaluating it now. There’s nothing more to report at this time.

Those Pi guys have a lot of catchin’ up to do
@ ianlee74 - Oh, that’s beautiful!
Thanks! I’m thinking its about time to upgrade that old project. Don’t be surprised if you see a Pi based version sometime soon
@ ianlee74 - Wow - absolutely stunning.
He can’t MISO and MOSI to work but he sure can do some nice woodwork.
@ mcalsyn - Thanks!
@ Dave -
Hmmm the display is nice, but on the other hand these days you get pretty nice small HDMI screens with built in audio and infrared remote control. And they are already in a nice looking enclosure. I think if I want to built a RPi gadget with a screen I’d rather go for one of those.
For example this one : http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Super-slim-and-light-9-touch-screen-portable-headrest-multimedia-player-USD-SD-IR-FM-speaker/32280759332.html?spm=2114.01020208.3.19.6OtTcp&ws_ab_test=201407_1,201444_6,201409_2
Its a bit more expensive than the official RPi display, but its 9" and even acts as multimedia player.
There are nice ones also available that looks more like an iPad, but they are quite expensive.
