Nice indeed. I paid slightly less for the DS1052E (50 MHz) earlier this year.
I read somewhere that you can turn yours into 100MHz. As far as I remember the difference is in firmware only.
Yea, there is an unsupported firmware hack that can be applied to upgrade it to 100MHz. I read also that you have to have an older firmware than I have in order to be able to apply it. I also read several stories about people attempting it and bricking their scope. I’m just not willing to take the chance. Maybe if I ever get in a bind and really need 100MHz then I’ll attempt it. Otherwise, I’m quite happy with it as is.
